Vegetable broth powder (also known as vegetable stock powder) can be substituted for liquid broth, stock, or bouillon cubes in any recipe. This versatile ingredient can be used to make soups, sauces, and gravies. It makes a great seasoning, too! It can serve as a dry rub or be sprinkled on as an alternative to salt. Any dish that needs an extra dose of rich, veggie flavor can be enhanced with vegetable broth powder.
In its purest form, vegetable powder is flavorful, all-natural, and nutritious. Unfortunately it can be hard to find pure commercially produced vegetable powder. Storebought versions may contain high amounts of sodium, MSG, colorings, or preservatives. The good news is that it is incredibly easy to make your own all-natural vegetable powder at home.
You can find many recipes online for making your own homemade vegetable powder with fresh vegetables. However, if you want the ease and convenience of veggie powder without all the peeling, chopping, and dehydrating, you can make your own using premium quality dehydrated vegetables from Harmony House Foods. Our dried vegetables contain no additives or preservatives and are also non-GMO, kosher, and gluten free.
Veggie Broth Powder in 4 Easy Steps
Step 1.
Select a variety of dehydrated vegetables to use in your powdered vegetable stock. Onions, celery, carrots, and peas are some of the most popular powdered vegetable broth ingredients, but you can use your imagination here. Add in any veggies you love!
Step 2.
Mix all ingredients together and pulverize them to a powder using a blender, food processor, coffee grinder, or spice grinder.
Step 3.
Season to your taste and dietary needs. Add salt, if you wish, and a blend of your own favorite dried herbs and spices to the powdered vegetables. A few favorites include black pepper, basil, thyme, paprika, nutritional yeast, celery seed, and marjoram.
Step 4.
Store your vegetable powder in an airtight container in a dark, cool, dry place. If stored correctly, your vegetable broth powder will keep for months without refrigeration.
