As temperatures drop and days shorten, we tend to seek hearty meals for warmth. After a few spoons full of hot stew, chili, or soup, the shivers begin to fade and winter life starts to feel a little less gloomy – it’s like magic! And since Harmony House is in the business of providing delicious, healthy foods that make life easier too, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite vegan and vegetarian meals that will fill you up, warm your heart, and also prepare in about 15 minutes.
There’s nothing like a hot bowl of chili to defrost us from head to toe. Our Verylicious Veggie Chili has a creamy tomato sauce base and contains 6 different all-natural vegetables, as well as pinto beans. Bean lovers will especially enjoy our Unbelievable Black Bean Chili – it offers a bright garlic flavor alongside our gourmet veggie blend.
Traditional stew recipes call for meats to add heartiness and flavor, but we think this convention was made to be broken. Our recipes are meatless; instead, we incorporate TVP and other high quality sources of vegetarian protein (like dried beans), and a whole bunch of veggies to create a satisfying meal. For example, our Great Northern Bean Stew contains potato, carrot, onion, celery, basil, vegan chicken flavor, garlic, onion, carrot juice, and sea salt. Similarly, we combine 10 natural veggies and Beefish Bits in our Hearty Texas Beefish Stew. Both are 100% vegetarian and 100% delicious.
Packed with healthy veggies, herbs, and spices, soup warms your bones, nourishes your body, and is just plain tasty. Our Dried Vegetable Soup Mix has long been one of our most popular items. Add the mix to your favorite ramen noodles for a super quick, tasty, and nutritious meal. For a Mediterranean twist on an old favorite try Harmony House’s Mama Mia Italian Vegetable Soup or Greek Lentil Soup with Quinoa. All of these delicious soup recipes are meat free, dairy free, contain a variety of premium quality dried vegetables. They contain no additives or preservatives and are non-GMO! Simple Cooking Instructions
Making chili, soup, or stew from raw ingredients takes time to prepare (washing, chopping, mixing) and cook (usually for an hour or more). Our dried vegetable mixes make the process unbelievably simple:
- Pour the package contents into a saucepan (if using a bulk container, follow the measurement instructions for the portion desired).
- Add 2 cups of water to the package contents. Then mix well to blend all of the seasonings together.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the pan heat and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- After 10 minutes, cover the mixture, remove it from heat, and let it stand for an additional 5 minutes.
- Now give it a gentle stir and you are ready to serve. Enjoy!
