Healthy Holiday Dips

Holiday dips don’t have to be a guilty pleasure! 

With a few simple swaps and the help of our dehydrated spinach, you can create a healthy version of spinach and artichoke dip that’s just as creamy and flavorful. This recipe cuts down on calories and fats while keeping all the comforting flavors intact.

Spinach and Artichoke Dip 

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Harmony House Foods dehydrated spinach 
  • 1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped 
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (nonfat or low-fat) 
  • 1/2 cup part-skim ricotta cheese 
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 

Instructions 

Rehydrate the Spinach 

Place the dehydrated spinach in a bowl and cover with warm water to rehydrate it. Drain and squeeze out excess water. 

Preheat the Oven 

Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). 

Combine the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rehydrated spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, Greek yogurt, ricotta cheese, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste. 

Transfer to a Baking Dish 

Spread the mixture evenly in an oven-safe dish. 

Bake the Dip 

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and the top begins to brown slightly. 

Serve 

Serve warm with whole-grain crackers, pita chips or fresh vegetables like carrot sticks, celery and bell pepper slices for a healthy dipping option. 


Spinach and Mixed Vegetables Dip 

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 cup Harmony House Foods dehydrated spinach 
  • 1/2 cup Harmony House Foods dehydrated vegetable soup mix 
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (nonfat or low-fat) 
  • 1/4 cup part-skim ricotta cheese 
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 
  • 1/4 tsp dehydrated garlic 
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika 
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 
  • Salt to taste 
  • A splash of lemon juice (optional) 

Instructions 

Rehydrate the Vegetables 

Place the dehydrated spinach and mixed vegetables in separate bowls. Cover each with warm water to rehydrate. Drain and gently squeeze out excess water. 

Blend the Base 

In a large mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and a splash of lemon juice (if using). Mix until smooth. 

Incorporate the Vegetables 

Stir the rehydrated spinach and mixed vegetables into the yogurt mixture until evenly distributed. 

Chill and Serve 

Transfer the dip to a serving dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with whole-grain crackers, pita chips, or fresh vegetables like cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, and bell pepper strips.
