Great for extending ground meats!
I use this with ground meats such as meatloaf and spaghetti sauce. I've been making the switch from ground beef to the much greener but not as tasty ground turkey, and always add beefish bits with some beef bouillion to the turkey to give it a better flavor. It doesn't need to be reconstituted when you add it directly to ground meat as it will absorb the meat juices during cooking.

Excellent
TVP is great because you can keep it on the shelf for ages, and don't need to refrigerate it. This particular TVP rehydrates well, isn't spongy like some TVP - although that would be hard with these fine pieces - and tastes good. If you want to add some crunch to something, you can put some in dry, but i wouldn't add too much as it's very crunchy. The only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the texture is very fine, much finer than i thought. Next time i'll have to give the chunks a try.
