When you're ready to use them in a recipe, just put about 1/2 the amount of beans called for into your cooking container, simmer until tender (10-15 minutes), and serve. That's it! Remember to keep some in your emergency food kit. Four (4) ounces of Dehydrated Beans equals the equivalent amount of beans you get from one 16 ounce can.

Black Bean Burgers
- 3/4 Cups Dehydrated Black Beans
- 1 Cup Water
- 3 Tbs Dehydrated Mixed Peppers
- 3 Tbs Dehydrated Chopped Onions
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 Cups Bread Crumbs
- 1/4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 Egg
Place dried black beans and water in a food processor and pulse lightly. Pour into a bowl and add remaining ingredients except for bread crumbs, flour, and egg. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes to soak up water. Mix in bread crumbs, flour, and egg.
SKILLET METHOD: Heat nonstick pan over medium heat. Shape burger mix into patties in the pan and let cook 6-8 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 6-8 minutes.
OVEN METHOD: Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Shape patties on a well greased baking pan. Bake 8 minutes. Flip and bake an additional 8 minutes.
